Notes from our Green Buyer

We’ve been buying Finca El Puente coffee from Moises & Marysabel Herrera since our first visit to Honduras in 2012. Their relentless hard work has garnered them many awards over the years, and they continue to improve on the best coffee farm in Honduras. This Catuai lot from Tanairi is our first offering from their 2026 crop, and it’s a great example of what Honduras coffee can be when it’s done right! Moises & Marysabel’s ever-lauded quality is a result of the responsibility they take to improve their workers’ livelihoods, their land, and their coffee—year after year. You and your friends and neighbors will enjoy coming back to this cup!

Notes from our Roaster

This year’s washed-processed Tanairi lot is a true Honduran classic: you get an enjoyable acidity paired alongside a smooth, chocolate-y sweetness. This has become the hallmark profile for many washed-processed coffees coming out of Central America. Excluding naturals and other experimental fermentations, this is the ideal. When done well, this acidity-sweetness combo exhibits what we like to call “balance.” One flavor aspect does not drown out or compete with another; simply put, they pair well. Tanairi is a great example of what you’ve come to expect – and enjoy! – out of your Central American coffees.
